9:10 am - 10:50 am | Energy Performance Contracts from A to Z Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) is an innovative financing technique that uses cost savings from reduced energy consumption to repay the cost of installing energy conservation measures. These contracts are becoming increasingly popular in the public sector. This session will go in-depth into how these contracts work, the legal and regulatory requirements which need to be addressed, and learn about one public sector entity's experiences with energy performance contracts. 2 CPE - Specialized Knowledge (Gov't) | 2 GFI Elective Credits Beth Ferguson, Vice President / Municipal Advisor, Fiscal Advisors & Marketing, Inc. Craig Rebecca, Senior Product Manager, Ameresco, Inc. Alex Mazzotta, Director of Purchasing, County of Putnam Jeff Storch, Partner, Harris Beach, PLLC 11:10 am to 12:00 PM | Federal Single Audits (Uniform Guidance) and ARPA Funds Many local governments are receiving ARPA funds from the Federal government in excess of the $750,000 threshold which, if expended during a municipality's fiscal year, could trigger a federal single audit (Uniform Guidance). In April, the U.S. Treasury proposed new guidance which could potentially simplify this process if your entity receives (in the aggregate), less than $10 million in ARPA funds. This session explains what this guidance could mean to your entity, what uniform guidance audits (and attestations) are, and the process and procedures for audits conducted under these federal rules. 1 CPE Auditing (Gov't) | 1 GFI Elective Credit Jennifer George, CPA, Partner, RBT CPAs, LLP |
